Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington’s Walk for Alzheimer’s Is a Great Success!
Waterloo Wellington, ON – February 3, 2017: This past Sunday, January 29th, over 400 individuals laced up their running shoes and joined the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington for the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s presented by Your Neighbourhood Credit Union.
The indoor Walk took place on Sunday January 29, 2017, with four Walk locations throughout Waterloo Wellington. Walks were held at: Old Quebec St Shoppes in Guelph, Mount Forest & District Sports Complex in Mount Forest, Waterloo Recreation Complex in Waterloo and Cambridge Centre Mall in Cambridge.
Both individuals and teams participated, and Walkers, sponsors and donors collectively raised $120,000 across the region. Donations to the Walk for Alzheimer’s 2017 are still coming in daily, and donations will continue to be accepted until the end of February. All funds raised in any of our Walks stay in our community and support Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington.
“The 2017 Walk was a big success – everyone who came out and participated had a great time.” says Michelle Martin, Executive Director. “This year we raised over $120,000 in one day, and with donations still being accepted until the end of February, we are confident we can achieve our goal.”
With your support, we will be able to continue to provide programs and services in Waterloo Wellington to help those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and their care partners, to live well.
